What happens in a Vettasy interview, from the invitation to the feedback

The invitation, the tech check, two consents, the interview, and what the candidate gets after it: the recording, the transcript, the same report and feedback.

In short

An invitation from the employer's own domain, the app with no account, a two-minute tech check, two separate consents, a quiet waiting room and a clean call. Afterwards the candidate gets the recording, the transcript, the same session report as the employer, and written feedback within five business days.

A Vettasy interview has seven steps, and the candidate sees each one before it happens. This is the whole path, from the email with the invitation to the written feedback.

1. The invitation

The invitation comes from the employer's own email domain, through Calendly, Google Calendar, Microsoft 365 or the employer's ATS. It contains a personal link to vettasy.com with an invitation code. The page behind the link shows the company with its verification mark, the date and time, the name and role of the interviewer, what Vettasy is in two sentences, and that it is free for candidates.

A prep pack comes with the invitation: the format and the duration, the competencies that will be assessed, what Verified Session checks, the candidate's rights, and who answers questions. The exact questions are not shared, so that the interview stays comparable between candidates.

The email, the page on vettasy.com and the first screen of the app show the same company, the same interviewer and the same date. Nothing has to be taken on trust. It can be compared.

2. The first launch

There is no account and no sign-up. The code from the link fills in automatically, or it can be typed in. The first screen repeats the invitation: the company, the verification mark, the interviewer and the date. Under it is one line: the app works only during the interview and can be deleted afterwards.

3. The tech check

The tech check takes about two minutes: camera, microphone, connection speed, and permission for screen capture, which the interview tools need. Each check says what it checks and why, and short instructions follow if something needs fixing. It can be done at any time before the interview, and the result is saved. The recruiter sees whether it is done, and the evening before gets a list of candidates who have not done it yet, so a problem is fixed before the day, not during it.

The consent screen is in plain language, with the full text one link away. It lists what is recorded (audio, video, the code pad, the whiteboard and the session chat), what is not (the screen outside the app, files, keystrokes outside the app), the five signals Verified Session checks, what is never checked (emotions, facial expressions, tone of voice, browser history), who will see the recording and the report, how long they are kept, and the candidate's rights.

There are two separate consents: one for the recording and one for Verified Session. Without either one, the interview does not start. The employer gets a neutral notice that the candidate did not proceed, with no reason and no rating, and the candidate can reschedule or write to the recruiter. The consent record is stored with the recording, and both sides can see it.

5. The waiting room

Before the start, the screen is quiet: the agenda, the names and roles of the interviewers, and a countdown. A "Something's wrong" button opens a chat with Vettasy support and works for the whole session. There are no ads and no tips.

6. The interview

The candidate sees a clean call: the participants' video, a recording indicator that is always visible and cannot be turned off, a timer shared by both sides, captions and translation if they are on, and the code pad or the whiteboard when the interviewer opens them. The scorecard, the follow-up prompts and the interviewer's coaching are internal tools, and the candidate does not see them.

Verified Session shows nothing during the interview, on either screen. Signals are logged and go into the report after the session. Live warnings would turn the interviewer into a detective, so there are none.

7. After the interview

Right after the call, the app shows the recording, the transcript, the session report and the consent record. Within an hour, a link to the same materials arrives by email, and it works for the whole retention period.

Within five business days, the candidate receives written feedback. The interviewer confirms a draft that AI prepares from the confirmed scorecard. If the employer misses the deadline, the candidate automatically receives the list of assessed competencies and the session report.

Any line in the session report can be disputed within 14 days, with an explanation. A person at Vettasy reviews it, and both sides see the outcome. Deletion can be requested in the app or at privacy@vettasy.com and takes up to 30 days, unless a dispute is open. The app itself can be deleted as soon as the interview is over: it has no background process, no scheduled tasks and no autostart.
